Understanding Mediumship, Interpretation & Perception

Mediumship is often seen from the outside looking in.

A message is delivered.

A symbol is shared.

A moment unfolds.

And depending on where someone is sitting—on the stage, in the audience, or receiving the message—the experience can look very different.

What many people don’t realize is that understanding mediumship goes far beyond the words spoken.

It also involves understanding interpretation… and perception.

The Language of Spirit

When I connect with Spirit, communication does not come through like a conversation you and I would have.

It comes in impressions.

Images.

Feelings.

Memories.

Symbols.

These impressions are then interpreted through me in real time, with the intention of bringing forward meaning, validation, and connection for the person receiving the message.

Because of this, what is shared is not just “told”… it is translated.

Emotional Reference Points

You may hear certain things come up in readings—especially in group settings.

Rings.

Tattoos.

Ashes.

Butterflies.

Birds.

From the outside, these can sound repetitive or even “common.”

But within mediumship, these are what we call emotional reference points.

They are not random.

They are often the very things that held meaning in someone’s life. The pieces of identity, memory, and love that Spirit can use to reconnect with those still here.

They are the strongest threads of connection.

The Doorway, Not the Destination

Spirit will often begin with these reference points because they are clear, recognizable, and emotionally charged.

They are a doorway.

But what matters most is not just the symbol itself…

It’s what it means.

A ring is not just a ring.

It may represent a marriage, a promise, something passed down, or something you now wear to feel close to them.

A tattoo is not just a tattoo.

It may reflect personality, a shared memory, or something deeply personal that only the recipient truly understands.

Ashes are not just ashes.

They often connect to very specific decisions, emotions, or moments following someone’s passing.

And butterflies or birds…

They are often used as gentle ways for Spirit to say, “I’m still with you.”

Interpretation & Perception

Here is where mediumship becomes something more than just a message.

It becomes a shared experience.

What I receive is interpreted through me.

What is shared is then perceived through the person receiving it.

That means every message exists in three spaces:

 • The Spirit communicator

 • The medium

 • The receiver

And each brings their own layer of understanding.

This is why something that may seem simple to one person can feel profoundly meaningful to another.

Because it is.

Why It Can Sound Repetitive

In group readings, you may hear similar symbols come through more than once.

But I can promise you this:

The meaning behind them is never the same.

Each message is layered.

Each connection is unique.

Each moment is personal to the individual it is meant for.

Even if the symbol is familiar…

The experience never is.

Beyond Performance

Mediumship is not about performing or proving.

It is about connection.

It is about healing.

It is about reminding you that love does not end.

Even when it changes form.

For those who have experienced a true connection, you will understand that it’s not about the words alone.

It’s about how it lands.

How it feels.

How something within you recognizes it as truth.

A Final Thought

If you are observing mediumship, your experience will be different than the person receiving the message.

And that’s okay.

Because mediumship is not meant to be understood only from the outside.

It is meant to be felt from within.

And for those still seeking that connection, I truly hope you experience it in a way that brings you comfort, peace, and knowing.

Because love never dies…

It transforms.

Love and gratitude,
